The Haviland Pavilion remodel and expansion was spread across five floors of the fully-occupied Northwest Kidney Center (NKC) headquarter building. Preconstruction services included design-build MEP, budgeting, and development of the phasing and logistics plan. Through close collaboration with the MEP subcontractor, the completed remodel boasts a 50% reduction in energy use.
In addition to infrastructure upgrades, renovations and additions incorporated a pharmacy, 15-station dialysis clinic, conference room, and research center. Construction activities required constant communication and coordination with occupants for utility shutdowns and material deliveries. Careful pre-planning and diligence provided NKC a state-of-the-art office and conference center with no disruption to ongoing operations.
They're very strong in working with facility managers. The patients are safe and things are cleaned up when they're done. They've been a pleasure to work with and they make my job easier.
