Superintendent Randy Carlson Celebrates 20 Years
Randy has been a trusted team member of the Aldrich team since 2001
As a carpenter, Randy has worked in the construction industry since 1984 and was himself a self-employed general contractor for ten years from 1990 to 2000. “Randy came to work for us as a carpenter to build a middle school in Maple Valley. I was a project engineer at the time working onsite and I’ll never forget the impression he made on me,” recalls George Ward, President. “Randy has such a great attitude and work ethic, he is fun to work with and a trustworthy teammate, and I consider him a friend.”
With his depth of experience and his strong leadership qualities, there is no question Randy has been integral to Aldrich’s success. Randy fosters a team-oriented approach with his crew, owners, and subcontractors, and his motivating demeanor sets the pace to meet project milestones and the demands of working in complex healthcare projects. In fact, Randy has led construction on some of Aldrich’s largest, most sophisticated projects like the 62,000-SF, new Franciscan Specialty Care Rehabilitation Hospital located in Tacoma completed in 2018, and last year, Northwest Kidney Centers Bellevue Dialysis Clinic addition and renovations completed while keeping the clinic fully operational during the early months of the pandemic. Most recently, Randy and his crew are renovating a residential treatment facility on the 5th floor of the Nordstrom building for Eating Recovery Center.
Randy’s skill level and versatility allow him to manage a wide range of projects. But it is his fun-loving personality, sense of humor, and ability to make us all laugh even when things are tough, that makes him a beloved Aldrich A+ Team member. Christian Sanchez has worked with Randy on several projects and says, “…with Randy, there is never a dull moment. He has such charisma and even when things get stressful, he never shows his frustration.”
